Ceramides vs. Collagen: How It Worked Out for Me

So, let’s start by talking about NeoCell. I started singing their praises like 4 years ago, before I got married and needed a huge boost to my hair, skin, and nails. They’ve completely transformed my hair many times, including after my hair took a BEATING thanks to a bad hair dye and tape-in extension experience…we won’t get into that right now…

Really and truly, I don’t know what I would have done without NeoCell in my life…it has provided the miracle I needed more than a couple of times.

Fast forward to now when I was fortunate enough to try some of NeoCell’s top products, as well as some of their new stuff and, oh man, I’m so obsessed. The ceramide supplement was totally new to me, but I’ve been reading more about ceramides lately and am really glad I was able to try it out.

  • CERAMIDES SKIN HYDRATOR is a nutricosmetic solution scientifically formulated for healthy skin hydration. This unique blend of beauty-enhancing nutrients promotes skin hydration, elasticity, and cellular turnover for glowing, supple skin.
  • CERAMOSIDES™ CERAMIDES Ceramides are specific lipids naturally present in the skin, essential to the lipid barrier or moisture barrier. Ceramosides™ Ceramides are plant based lipids and clinically tested to increase smoothness, moisture, and elasticity starting in just 15 days.
  • HYALURONIC ACID is a water-loving nutrient that is naturally occurring in the skin to help maintain suppleness, hydration & elasticity.
  • SKIN HYDRABLEND™ a scientifically crafted blend of nutrients supporting hydration while combating free radicals in the body to support your collagen systems.

This has kept my skin soft and moisturized. It also made a noticeable difference when I usually break out during “that-time-of-month”. It’s only 2 tiny pills a day, with no flavors, smells, or bad side effects. My hair was also feeling thicker this month and I know it’s because I’ve been taking these new NeoCell items, and my body is thanking me for it.

I’ve tried the Derma Matrix in the past and really liked it. It’s a powder that you can mix into any drink to get that lovely, lovely collagen. I prefer mixing it in my smoothies and drinking it quickly. The cookie bars reminded me of protein bars, with the added benefit of collagen.

Starting NeoCell

I seriously can’t recommend this brand enough. If you see it somewhere (I saw it at Walgreens recently) and you’re thinking “should I try this?” DO IT! I think I’ve tried most of NeoCell’s products by now, and my three favorite things have been:

  1. Keratin Hair Volumizer
  2. Beauty Bursts
  3. Ceramides

But the products that will work best for you depend on what you’re looking for and your preference (I prefer supplements in pill form). NeoCell is the absolute best thing for my hair. The ceramide supplements mentioned above are geared more towards the skin, compared to the collagen products I usually use (which are usually geared more towards the hair), but they still all result in way healthier, prettier hair, skin, and nails. And a very stress-free process overall.

I’ve found over the years that if my hair isn’t as glorious as it used to be, I will stop taking NeoCell for like 1-2 months and let my body “reset”. Then, when I start taking the supplements again, my body responds very quickly and very dramatically.

NeoCell now has a blog and recipes using NeoCell products, so you can get even more out of it. I watched a recipe tutorial on their Facebook awhile back and I really enjoyed it, so it’s not just for looks. I received these products complimentary for testing purposes. All opinions are my own. I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
