PrestoPhoto.com offers customized photo books, calendars, and cards. I was offered a $50 gift certificate to use as I pleased. However, as you can see from the photos and review below, I wasn’t thrilled with the experience.
How It Works
Once I gathered my zillions of pictures from my European trip, I assembled them into 50+ pages of photos, which was very easy to do. You can upload a PDF of a book that you create using your own desktop software like Photoshop, InDesign. or iPhoto here or you can use the book designer to create your book. You can also see what the order is going to cost as you are going so you don’t go over-budget.
My Thoughts
This was easy to create and the book shipped pretty quickly, but I had mixed feelings on it. The book was really affordable, but only about half of it looks the way I was expecting.
Some pages are breathtakingly gorgeous and others are just a blurry mess. Certain pages made me wonder if the book was quality checked (like in the photo right above with the huge streak over Matt’s face). Some of the pages came out crystal clear and sharp, while others just came out bad. I wish I could tear certain pages out to make it perfect. I used high-quality photos that don’t usually print blurry. It definitely did not look like this when I was creating it, so I’m disappointed that I have to tell people “Some of the photos are blurry” before I even let them look at it 🙁
I was also disappointed with the “Greeting Cards”. I could have sworn that there was an option to customize the front outer, front inner, back outer, and back inner card flaps, but when I got the cards, it was just a two sided photo, not really a card. There is no inner section and nowhere to write. I was hoping for actual cards and not a two-sided photo, which was also blurry. I guess I must have downgraded to a two-sided card or something. Still confused how this happened.
